My name is Christina McMillan and I am a 1st year Architecture & Interior Design Student at UCLA. Please explore my projects below!
Born and raised in the greater Seattle area, I attended the University of Washington, double majoring in Finance and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Dance. Following graduation, I joined Microsoft and worked as a Finance Rotational Program Analyst for two years and a Finance Manager. After three incredible years with stops in Redmond, WA, Tokyo, Japan, and Boston, MA, I have decided to pivot to a new career: interior design.
While my finance career at Microsoft offered valuable experiences and opportunities with amazing people at an amazing company, I felt a growing desire to pursue a path that more directly engaged my creative side. Ultimately, my decision to pivot was driven by a desire to align my professional life with my personal passions. I see interior design not just as an aesthetic pursuit, but as a way to create meaningful and functional spaces that positively impact people's lives.
By enrolling full-time in the Architecture & Interior Design program through UCLA Extension School, I am actively blending my analytical skills from finance with my creative sensibilities to build a career that is both personally fulfilling and impactful.
This website serves as my personal portfolio of art projects both in and outside of the classroom as I embark on my new journey as an aspiring interior designer!
LinkedInThis is my 'Color Assignment' for my Fundamentals of Interior Architecture class. The Assignment was to pretend I have been hired by a small company to present a color palette and image ideas for the renovation of their cat café.
The space was designed with the cats' well-being in mind, featuring cozy nooks, climbing shelves, and plenty of natural light. It was a truly delightful experience! Click on the image below to see more!
